Having had a great impression last time, I decided to return after several years, and my positive feelings have only grown. First, the accommodation is impeccably maintained and cleaned in every corner, making for a very pleasant stay. This level of care is not easy to achieve. The meals are heartfelt and allow you to fully enjoy the bounty of the sea. Additionally, while the panoramic bath with an ocean view is not an onsen, it can be enjoyed in the morning as well and was spotlessly clean. The guest rooms and bedding are simple as it is a guesthouse, but yukata robes and bath towels are provided. It may not suit those seeking luxury ryokan services; however, for travelers looking for an enjoyable trip at a reasonable price, I wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation.

So this is what people mean by “Shakotan Blue.” I was moved by the mesmerizing waves that draw you in. A vast natural setting surrounded by the sound of the sea. We stocked up on ingredients in Iwanai and enjoyed cooking. Bringing our own seasonings was a good idea. We forgot cooking oil, so we cooked without it. There are four large mugs, along with glasses and plates for four people.

Kappo Ryokan Nihonkai Dinner: Boat Platter Enjoyed a luxurious meal with crab, sashimi, and clam rice, leaving us completely satisfied. The Room offered a great view of the sea.

The facility was excellent, but there were issues with missing supplies and lack of management. - Despite being informed in advance that outdoor sandals would not be provided, they were available upon arrival after purchasing and bringing our own. - Water leakage from the air conditioner vent above the living room entrance. - Burnt-out light bulb in the living room floor lamp. - Poor drainage in the 2nd-floor bathroom, making it difficult to drain water smoothly. - No toilet paper or spare rolls in the 2nd-floor toilet. - Malfunctioning massage chair on the 2nd floor. - Complimentary water was stated as 500ml per person + one 2L bottle; however, for a group of four staying two nights, only eight 500ml bottles and one 2L bottle were provided. - No spare paper towels in the kitchen. - Insufficient towels provided overall. - Only a small amount of used olive oil available in the kitchen supplies. Attempts to contact via listed numbers resulted only in being told that confirmation with responsible staff would be needed without immediate answers—likely due to outsourcing management responsibilities—but stricter oversight is necessary as these issues inconvenience guests significantly.

I stayed to visit the spring training camp of professional baseball. Although I was out all day, the room was so lovely that I regret not spending more time relaxing in it. Next time, I plan to bring a SUP during the warmer season and paddle at the beach right in front. The room had high ceilings and felt more spacious than its actual size, with clean and roomy washroom and bathroom areas creating a comfortable and pleasant space. (The bath is a jet bath!) On the first floor, there was also a wonderful shared space where you could enjoy delicious drinks. The friendly owner engaged in lively baseball discussions with me, staying up late for an enjoyable time. This property has only two rooms, offering quietness and privacy; however, there are many dining options nearby as well as convenience stores and supermarkets making it a convenient location. I've visited Okinawa many times but am very satisfied to have discovered such an excellent property!

The Room was very clean. However, the heating was not very effective, and it took time for the Room to warm up. The basement bedroom had no heating at all.

I’ve stayed here several times. It’s built halfway up Mt. Iwanai, and since it was a perfectly clear day, the view from the window was outstanding. The lounge also offers a great selection of complimentary drinks and other services for guests. The Onsen is known for its skin-beautifying waters, and you can also enjoy the open-air bath. This time I skipped meals, but next time I’d like to try them as well. Guests also receive free museum tickets, which made for a very enjoyable visit. If you’re staying in Iwanai, this is a recommended Hotel.

The other day, I had my annual “crab day” at Genmyoan again. This time they prepared Taiza crab for me, and I was able to enjoy it. It was three hours of satisfaction—satisfied, satisfied, truly satisfied. They do not serve hot pot dishes like “crab suki” here, and I agree that turning such great crab into a hot pot would be a waste. That is exactly why I keep choosing Genmyoan. They said it snowed quite a bit this year, but on my visit there was only a little snow left along the roadside. Genmyoan sits halfway up the mountain, and I believe it may be the only place with this kind of view looking down over Amanohashidate. The location is outstanding. As shown in the photos, being able to enjoy scenery that changes with time from your Room is very appealing. On the other hand, when it snows heavily, driving up the mountain road can be difficult. When I asked the proprietress this time, she told me that during severe snow they will come to pick guests up at Amanohashidate Station with rubber boots in the car. Being able to change into them at the station would be reassuring. (They provide Shuttle Service to the Accommodation regardless of snow.) Also, once you are past 70—even if it’s a once-a-year indulgent crab day—you may worry about not being able to finish everything. It seems they can adjust portions if you request in advance. If they can reduce the amount without compromising quality, you can keep enjoying it at any age. Because this relates to IKYU’s website meal listings and pricing, I do wonder how flexible such arrangements can be—but I would appreciate continued consideration for guests’ convenience. Lastly, their breakfast is also delicious: even when you feel you ate too much crab dinner-wise, you still end up overeating at breakfast. The Onsen has been refurbished and is clean. There is a tasting corner for chilled sake (you can sample and choose before dinner), and there is now a coffee room as well. There is also a room lined with CDs/DVDs/books from the owner’s personal collection; you can bring them back to your Room and enjoy them there. It feels like an Accommodation where each guest can find their own way to relax and have fun.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. It’s a stylish Hotel, and the staff’s service was excellent. Their kind support was wonderful from start to finish! We were able to relax in the room and enjoy quality family time. We’re very satisfied that we chose this Accommodation! Our Plan included breakfast only, but both the Japanese and Western options were generous and very delicious—we were completely full! Thank you very much. If I had to mention just one thing, I personally think it would be perfect if there were a chair available when bathing small children. We’d love to stay again! Thank you very much!

My husband and I drove there with our two dogs. The weather was lovely, and the mountain views from the Room were beautiful. The garden had a variety of plants and trees, and our dogs seemed especially happy—probably because it was more interesting than a wide open yard with nothing in it. They ran and jumped around like fish in water, and it took a while to get them back inside. The entrance has no steps, which made it easy to use, and the Room was very spacious and comfortable. The bed was also very comfortable to sleep on. I’m sorry for the trouble we caused with things we forgot, but your response by phone was quick and very helpful. It was also great that Karuizawa and the Onsen were close by.

This was my first time staying here. It was easy to find with GPS, and the location is just off the main road. Parking costs 1,000 yen, but I was able to park on-site in my own designated numbered space. The room is a studio apartment and was very clean, with a washing machine, two-compartment refrigerator, microwave, electric kettle, bathroom dryer/ventilation system, amenities, and one laundry detergent pod. There is also a gas dryer in front of the elevator (100 yen for 20 minutes), so you can dry laundry quickly. Japanese staff are at the front desk from 3:00 PM until night time, which was reassuring if I needed help. I forgot to turn off my car headlights, but the front desk kindly called me so I could go turn them off. The parking area was also well managed. There is a nearby San-A supermarket as well, which was convenient for buying meals and souvenirs.

This was our second visit to this glamping site. Being able to enjoy glamping with no preparation and light luggage is a huge plus for those without camping experience, and the Facility felt clean overall, making it a place where both children and adults can stay with peace of mind. Each dome Room has its own concept; the color schemes were beautiful and the amenities were well equipped. Mini fridge, electric kettle, instant coffee/tea/green tea, air conditioning/heating, plug-in insect repellent, Bluetooth speaker, outlets with USB ports, blankets, hanging rack, an external toilet & shower Room (strong water pressure in the shower with adjustable temperature; toilet with bidet), BBQ space, and more. We chose the Plan that includes dinner and breakfast. Everything was extremely delicious—and there was plenty of food. At night (depending on the weather) there may be a campfire as well, which really added to the camping vibe. For future improvements, I’d love to see more activity options such as bamboo-copter or cup-making using bamboo; an athletic play area; seasonal events like fireworks or water-gun games; snowball fights or roasted sweet potatoes; or hands-on experiences like working in nearby rice fields or vegetable gardens. There is also a simple lookout platform in the bamboo grove (I don’t think it was there last year). If the weather and timing are right, you can apparently see the ocean, townscape, and sunset from there. Outdoor voices tend to carry slightly into the domes, so I felt we all need to be mindful at night. The free-drink area was relatively close by and convenient. The ocean is nearby as well—an ideal place if you simply want to relax. They also lend out badminton sets plus board games and card games for free. We’d love to come again.

I stayed with my brother's family. The Room had two bedrooms and one tatami room, and one of the tatami rooms and bedrooms was a connecting room separated by a door, so we could watch over the children sleeping alone with peace of mind. Additionally, there was a jacuzzi on the terrace, and although we used it on the coldest day in December, the children were having a great time with maximum excitement (laughs). The living room on the second floor was spacious, and even with eight people, it didn't feel cramped, allowing us to have an enjoyable time. Also, it was convenient to have bathrooms and toilets on both the first and second floors. Personally, the most helpful feature was having a washing machine and dryer. The gas dryer, in particular, was very convenient as it allowed us to quickly take care of the children's clothes without taking much time. Basic appliances were provided, but since there were no pajamas, it might be a good idea to bring your own (as indicated on the site). The surroundings were quite empty, and although it was along the road, we were able to spend our time relatively quietly, allowing the adults to relax while the children had a great time playing on the terrace and in the spacious living room. My brother's family also expressed their gratitude, so I was glad we stayed. Since it can accommodate a large group, I would like to use it again if the opportunity arises.

I initially searched for a Room with an open-air bath, but after reviewing the meals and other details, I chose this Accommodation. After staying, I was very satisfied because all the baths can be reserved for private use free of charge, so I could enjoy a variety of baths. However, since it was raining that day, I wished there had been a roof over the washing area at the rooftop open-air bath. The first-floor open-air bath was small and nice, but it was disappointing to see limescale buildup on the mirror. The food was outstanding in both quality and quantity. I also thought it was tasteful to have kimono displayed as partitions between seats. We stayed in a special Room; it was spacious and had two TVs, a massage chair, and a Yogibo, so we could relax comfortably. The Room was thoroughly cleaned and felt very fresh and spotless. If I have the chance, I would like to visit again. Please note that bringing your own alcohol requires an additional fee.

It was my first time staying at a trailer house Hotel, and although I was initially anxious, it was neither cold nor unclean, and I had a comfortable stay. Additionally, they kindly accommodated a sudden change to dinner plans. Everyone was so kind, making this Hotel highly recommended if you're in the area. The barbecue meat was delicious. Of course, the breakfast sandwiches were also very tasty. Thank you very much!

The Room was well cleaned and tidy. The bath was located a bit far away, but it was good. The open-air bath was lukewarm, while the indoor bath was a little hot. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Overall, the flavors felt a bit strong. I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

I visit Miyako Island every year, but I never realized there was such a beautiful villa on Ikema Island. As shown in the images on IKYU's "Accommodation Introduction," the red-tiled roof and white walls of the building stood out beautifully against the blue sky and sea. The exterior alone was breathtaking, but the ocean view from the room was stunning as well. The private pool seemed to be one of the largest on Miyako Island, spacious and deep enough for adults to swim comfortably, with crystal-clear water that was incredibly clean. While some furnishings in the building and room felt slightly aged, they added charm and made for a comfortable stay. The staff were all cheerful and friendly, making it a very pleasant experience overall. Next time, I hope to visit during a warmer season when the water temperature is more comfortable. I originally made a Reservation at this Hotel with the breakfast Plan. Later, I heard that the dinner was highly acclaimed, so upon arrival I asked to add dinner at the last minute. (Sorry for the inconvenience.) As rumored, it did not disappoint. We sat at the counter in the restaurant and enjoyed the live kitchen. Watching the chef light the charcoal raised our expectations even more. Each creative dish was served with an explanation of the ingredients, and everything was truly delicious. The tableware used for plating also showed great attention to detail, making it a feast not only for the palate but also for the eyes. The food was outstanding, and so was the chef’s personality. The Japanese set breakfast had gentle, breakfast-appropriate seasoning and was a perfect way to start the day. The interior of the Hotel felt like an art museum, and its calm atmosphere was very soothing. The Room we stayed in had a clean, refreshing feel with a white color scheme, and we were able to spend our time comfortably. It’s also close to the ferry terminal for Miyajima, which made getting around convenient. Finally, thank you to all staff who assisted us and to the chef as well—thank you for an amazing meal! We will definitely visit again.

Clean and Beautiful Beach House The spacious pool was incredibly refreshing, and the bath was absolutely amazing. Equipped with modern appliances like a drum washing machine, Balmuda toaster, and Healsio oven, ensuring a comfortable stay. Kids will love the toy kitchen and tunnel for endless fun. We’ll definitely come back again!
