Resort for Enjoying a Sky Full of Stars: Ashibetsu Onsen Starlight Hotel & Ofuro Cafe Seiyukan

We stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary.This was our first time staying, and we were able to relax in the Room.We were satisfied with everything—the bath, meals, Facility, and amenities.My wife also said she would like to come again, and it made for a wonderful anniversary.

It was my first time staying at a Hotel that uses a QR code system to pass through the gates, so I was a bit confused at first, but I was impressed by how innovative it felt. The check-in process and overall style were also modern—it made me think this might become the norm!After checking in, I was amazed by the all-you-can-drink service—my first time experiencing that. Alcoholic drinks were included as well, and there were unlimited snacks and treats—even Onsen manju! A staff member told me it was fine to take them back to the Room, so being able to relax in the Room while eating and drinking was really nice.Dinner buffet also came with all-you-can-drink, and both the variety and taste of the food were excellent. For breakfast buffet, I also liked that seating was properly assigned. The variety and taste of the food were great as well. I ate so much that I couldn’t eat lunch afterward (lol).The Onsen was spacious and very enjoyable. In particular, the outdoor pot bath (tsubo-buro?) was amazing. It rained a little, but putting a towel on my head made it no problem! And free massages too!It’s great that there are no extra charges besides the Accommodation Fee—only Hot Spring Tax and Accommodation Tax apply. At a typical Onsen Hotel you usually need to buy snacks or drinks to have in your Room, but here there’s no need for that.If I had one suggestion: I’d be happy if the souvenir corner had a few more signature sweets or food items representing the Hotel—then there’d be no need to buy them elsewhere.This time I bought some at a nearby roadside station.It really was an excellent Hotel. I genuinely want to stay here again.
