Sumiyoshi Higashi Station × Highly rated for rooms and amenities at Hotel·Ryokan

We chose this Hotel for our first trip to Osaka with our 5- and 2-year-old! There were plenty of places to play, and the kids had a great time right up until checkout. We were very satisfied overall, but we did see two families leave their children unattended in the play area while they went over to the billiards area. Even though it’s a kids’ play space, I hope parents will keep an eye on their children so the overall guest experience can be even better. We’d definitely like to stay here again when we visit Osaka.

This was our second stay, and it was comfortable again. The view from the Room was wonderful, and the Room layout was slightly different from when I stayed with my daughter last time, which felt fresh and made it easy to relax. It’s a shame I always forget to take photos, so I can’t post any. Harukas was also amazing, and my husband especially enjoyed the luxury of relaxing in the Room with a cup of coffee while savoring the afterglow of the night view from the observatory. The light snacks in the lounge and breakfast were delicious as well—we were satisfied with everything. Thank you very much.

This was my first stay, and the Room was clean, functional, and very comfortable. There is a bus terminal beneath the Hotel, which made it very convenient for getting around. I would like to stay here again when I have business nearby.

I was a bit worried since it’s basically unmanned, but the email communication was courteous and thorough. The Room was clean and spacious, and the bathtub and shower were separate, so I could relax and enjoy a long bath. I think there were other guests based on the number of shoes at the entrance, but it was surprisingly quiet. There are slippers (sandals) to get from the entrance to the Room, but if you’re concerned about hygiene, you might want to bring disposable slippers. Thank you for your hospitality. I’d like to stay again.

We visited this Hotel to celebrate a special anniversary. During the day, we enjoyed chatting in our Room, and with the Executive Floor benefits we spent an elegant time in the 1st-floor lounge while enjoying high-quality plated food and drinks. That evening, we had a celebratory dinner course at Ryuhou, the Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor. The atmosphere was luxurious and refined, and the staff’s hospitality was outstanding. We were able to fully enjoy an elegant and delicious Chinese course meal. They even added a congratulatory message to our dessert plate, and being able to celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime anniversary at this Hotel—and at Ryuhou—made us truly happy! Our Junior Suite offered a panoramic view of Sakai City from a high floor. Separated from the bedroom area, there was a spacious sofa and table arranged comfortably. It was quiet, and since the in-room minibar was complimentary, it was perfect for relaxing and chatting while enjoying canned beer and snacks. The bathroom area is also luxurious, with a separate shower booth and toilet, plus a jet bath function. From our east-facing Room, we could also faintly see the UNESCO World Heritage site of Emperor Nintoku’s Tomb amid the cityscape of Sakai. As a local sightseeing recommendation: Daisen Park is about 10 minutes by car from the Hotel. Within its grounds there is an attraction where you can ride in a hot-air balloon; from about 100 meters up you can take in the majestic view of Emperor Nintoku’s Tomb. I highly recommend taking a short trip for this balloon experience! The views from above—Sakai City, Osaka Bay, the Ikoma mountain range, and keyhole-shaped kofun burial mounds—are breathtaking. This Hotel has been my favorite for many years. I’ve stayed here for anniversaries like this one or simply to spend relaxing holidays. During COVID-19 restrictions when it was difficult to travel outside Osaka Prefecture, I refreshed myself by changing my mood in Rooms with beautiful views. One year when a typhoon was approaching, I also stayed here for safety reasons and spent the night with peace of mind. No matter what is happening around us, all of your staff have always provided consistent hospitality and welcomed me with calm smiles—I am truly grateful every time. With so many wonderful staff members here, I’m convinced once again that this will continue to be a beloved Hotel for years to come! I will definitely visit again!

The Room was clean and comfortable. I stayed here because I had an exam in Uehommachi 6-chome the next morning, and there was a bus to Uehommachi 6-chome running from very close to the Hotel. For dinner, I ate at Abeno Harukas next to the Hotel. There was also a convenience store nearby, and the location was just steps from the JR Tennoji ticket gates—extremely convenient. The breakfast venue is on the top floor of the Hotel, and they even had Osaka specialties like tako-senbei and butaman. I was completely satisfied with everything at this Hotel. It was so comfortable that I’d like to stay here even on an ordinary day just for a getaway.

I stayed here because I had a concert at Gorilla Hall Osaka. It was in a convenient location and easy to reach from the station without getting lost. The Hotel was clean overall, but there was one disappointing thing... The TV remote control was so dirty that I hesitated to touch it, and that was the only downside. The free massage chairs were perfect for relaxing my tired legs and lower back after the concert. I also appreciated the free breakfast. I will stay here again when there is another concert at Gorilla Hall Osaka. I rated my satisfaction as 4, hoping for improvement with the remote control. Thank you.

Right in the heart of Abeno, the location was truly excellent and very convenient. The Hotel staff were kind and courteous, making our stay very pleasant. I would love to stay here again when I have business nearby.

This time, I stayed here while traveling with my mother, who has difficulty walking. From the moment we entered the hotel, they seemed to notice her using a cane, and at check-in the front desk staff kindly offered advice and suggestions to make things easier for her. Thanks to their support, we were able to move around comfortably and had a very pleasant stay. They also checked in on us politely by asking if we were okay, and I’m glad we chose to stay at this hotel. My mother said she would like to stay here again, which shows how comfortable and relaxing it was for her. We booked a sea-view Room, so the scenery was beautiful and it was quiet at night. All of the staff greeted us warmly and handled everything courteously with wonderful smiles—I highly recommend this place. Breakfast can involve a wait when there are many guests staying, so I recommend going with extra time. We were lucky not to have to wait because our timing was good. My personal highlight of the meal was the wide variety of desserts—we enjoyed them together like we were at a café! I also recommend the breakfast!

I discovered this place on TikTok and decided to stay during the Expo. Conveniently located near the station, with a convenience store and coin laundry nearby. This is my second time staying here. For meals, both sushi rice and plain white rice are available, making it hard not to go for seconds! The egg yolks are rich, so I highly recommend trying TKG (tamago kake gohan). The large public bath offers a shampoo bar and even has a covered open-air bath—perfect for relaxing as long as you like. Free iced tea, coffee, snacks like rice crackers, and cookies were also delightful touches. True to its name "Namba," I walked back from Namba Station and even explored Shinsekai on foot. I'll definitely stay here again when visiting Osaka!

Located right in the heart of Shinsekai, we enjoyed delicious food and drinks, then relaxed at a leisurely pace in a spacious Room. We couldn’t make it this time, but there’s a public bathhouse nearby that opens early in the morning, so we’d like to enjoy that on our next visit.

Arrive early to enjoy a bath before check-in, then have a drink at the restaurant. Check in at 3:00 PM and rest in your Room. After exploring Shinsekai, enjoy a meal and then relax with a smoke in the Room. Take another bath before bed. Unwind with a foot massage. The next morning, enjoy one more bath, then head to the breakfast buffet. It was disappointing that there were no raw eggs, but there was a wide variety of side dishes and I enjoyed it. The rice porridge had just the right amount of salt and really hit the spot. Very satisfied with all the bathing. Since it was my first visit, I was a bit confused about the shoe lockers and coin lockers for bathing, but I made sure to watch out for lost or forgotten items and enjoyed my stay. On the way home, I strolled around the zoo, Harukas, and Abeno Department Store, then bought some side dishes to take home. I would like to stay again.

The front desk service was excellent, always welcoming with a smile and very approachable. The Room was odorless, but the elevator had a wonderful fragrance. The okonomiyaki around the Hotel was delicious, and I could feel the spirit of Osaka in the people. During this trip to Osaka, I didn’t encounter anyone with poor manners—it truly felt like a wonderful prefecture. Thank you very much!

My husband injured his leg, so we changed our booking from a twin to a double and extended our stay from one night to two. During our stay, his leg pain worsened, and when we called the reception, they arranged a taxi for us. They have eliminated unnecessary services and are a Hotel that responds to guests’ needs. We were very satisfied. We are truly grateful to all the staff. Thank you very much.

I’ve stayed at various Accommodations in this area, and this one had been renovated inside, with fluffy bedding that made it very comfortable. Despite that, the Accommodation Fee was the same as nearby Accommodations, so I’ll definitely be back. The woman at reception was also pleasant and friendly, which made the stay even more welcoming.

I stayed for two nights. After reading the Reviews, I was a bit concerned about cleanliness, but the room was very well cleaned and spotless. Although it is right in front of a main road, it wasn’t noisy enough to bother me, and once the windows were closed I couldn’t hear it. The station is also nearby (within a 10-minute walk), and there is a shopping street between the station and the Hotel, so shopping and dining were very convenient. I had a very comfortable stay. A Plan with check-out until 1 PM at the same price was very helpful! I will consider using this again.

I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay. The staff were very helpful, and when I returned the next day, I was happy to find fresh towels hanging on the doorknob. The bathroom was small, but I had a comfortable stay. Thank you for your hospitality.

The staff kindly assisted us when we left our luggage before check-in. The Room was clean, quiet, and allowed for a good night's sleep.
