Yokokawa Station (Gunma Prefecture) × Highly rated for dining at Hotel·Ryokan

This was my second stay. Even though I didn’t mention it, they surprised me with champagne for my birthday, which truly moved me. They did the same last time, so I wondered if they remembered me—it became a wonderful memory. Thank you very much. I also had trouble losing my car key this time, and they kindly checked on me; I’m sorry for the inconvenience. It’s a great Hotel, and I will definitely stay again. Thank you very much.

I’ve been visiting Karuizawa since I was young. Each time, I told myself I would stay here once I became an adult. The staff were very kind, and the Hotel was wonderful—I had a truly comfortable stay. They even have a thoughtful mailbox where you can post a letter to your future self or someone important to be delivered in 10 years, which made me want to come back and stay again in 10 years. Thank you very much.

We stayed to celebrate a birthday. The female staff member who assisted us at check-in, the female staff member who carried our luggage to our Room, and the male staff member who carried our luggage from the car were all kind and courteous—thank you very much. Breakfast was also very delicious. We would love to stay again for another special occasion.

This was my first stay here. The location is excellent, and the staff, Room size and layout, amenities, and the fact that we could be with our dog everywhere except the indoor baths made our Multiple Night Stay extremely comfortable. What I especially loved was a sign in the Room with a cute illustration of a dog saying, “Sorry, housekeeping—I slipped out!” It made me feel at ease and truly able to relax in the Room. Everywhere else we’ve stayed with our dog always has a sign saying there will be an additional cleaning fee, so I was really touched by the warmth here. I would definitely like to stay again next time.

Last time I stayed solo after work and found it very comfortable and easy to relax, so this time I stayed with my family during spring break. No matter when we visit, everything is wonderful—the calm atmosphere, the well-stocked shop, the Onsen, the Room, and the meals. The staff’s understated hospitality and kindness are even better than at luxury Hotels in central Tokyo. It makes me want to stay again and again. Also, breakfast offers a wide variety of options you’d want to eat every morning, with plenty of healthy choices; my favorite is the curry. My family liked the curry best as well. Since my child is taking entrance exams this year, they were able to study comfortably and efficiently after breakfast—enjoying the pool, Onsen, and coffee in the lounge too. We will visit again as a family this summer.

A two-day trip to Karuizawa with the sole purpose of simply relaxing. The Room was spacious, and the surroundings were quiet, so we were able to unwind in peace. After a bit of sightseeing, we quickly returned to the Hotel, took a bath in the Room at 2:00 PM, and used the large public bath in the evening. On the second day, we used the large public bath from 3:00 PM. Both times no one else was there, so it felt like a private bath—such a luxury. There was also a free-flow sparkling wine service, and having it after bathing was amazing. While there, I had a chance to chat with one of your female staff members. That became my best memory from Karuizawa. I hoped I might see her at check-out, and I was so happy she was there. Sorry for talking for so long. Thank you very much for everything.

I wasn’t feeling well and wasn’t sure what to do, but the staff responded flexibly and kindly, and in the end it turned into a very enjoyable trip. I was able to make wonderful memories with my daughter, who will be starting her first job in April. Thank you very much!

I love traveling solo, and this was my first stay here, but I was able to relax deeply. The staff were very considerate, checking in about drinks during meals and coming at just the right times without me needing to call. The food was also excellent and delicious. I chose a Room with a private Onsen, so I was happy to soak in the Onsen many times without worrying about others. I also enjoyed the classic atmosphere throughout the building. Thank you very much.

Accommodation in Karuizawa is very expensive, so we chose this Hotel. Since it’s an older Hotel, we didn’t expect much in terms of cleanliness, but it was quite clean and we were very satisfied. The bath area is very spacious and clean, with a sauna and an open-air bath as well. Even when there are many guests, it doesn’t feel crowded. There are always staff at the front desk, and they respond right away! Also, in addition to pajamas, you can wear the provided loungewear anywhere inside the building, so you can pack lighter. For breakfast we wanted something a bit more luxurious, so we went to The Prince for their morning buffet. A free shuttle bus is available, and the staff kindly explained everything to us, so boarding was smooth. It was a wonderful Hotel where we could relax in style from check-in to check-out!

Our annual Karuizawa family trip with our dog is becoming a tradition, and this time my daughter recommended GRAMDAY STYLE SUITE Yamanofumoto. Everyone was very kind to our dog, and the staff were exceptionally helpful. The location was also great—close to golf courses and the outlet mall, making it easy to get around. Most of all, my husband was delighted. We really enjoyed the BBQ, and the in-Room meals were delicious. Our daughter and her husband will be moving to the U.S. this summer, but we would love to stay here again when they return to Japan. Thank you very much.

I’ve been visiting Karuizawa for quite some time, but this was my first stay at this Hotel. Although the Room was assigned, it had a clear view of Mt. Asama and was a spacious twin Room. The Facility was clean, and even though the Onsen was in a separate building, it was wonderful—nothing to complain about. The in-room coffee, freshly ground from beans, had an amazing aroma. In the morning, we ordered the Western-style set via room service; everything from the omelet to the sides was delicious. It’s also conveniently close to the outlet mall, and I definitely want to come back again. Thank you for taking care of us.

The Facility was overall clean and well-maintained, which was great. The lounge had a variety of books, offering a refreshing experience. Free drinks and snacks were available, allowing guests to relax by the authentic fireplace while enjoying refreshments—a truly relaxing time after a long while. Regarding the bath, the shower pressure felt slightly weak. As for the toilet, the automatic lid opening feature was convenient; however, it would open and close on its own when standing near the sink, which was slightly unsettling. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

We arrived with high expectations, and the outstanding quality exceeded them—our whole family was completely satisfied. From the Shuttle Service to check-in guidance, the Room, the cleanliness of the Facility, and the service in the dining area (including generous portions), everything felt fresh as you would expect from a new Hotel. Every aspect was comfortable and exceptionally well balanced. We are truly grateful to everyone involved with this Hotel for making our stay so wonderful. Thank you very much.

It was my first stay and I stayed for two nights, but it was even better than I expected, and thanks to the staff’s courteous service I was able to relax and enjoy my time. They upgraded my Room, and I was also able to use the Executive Lounge. There was a great selection of alcohol, the snacks were delicious, and I could unwind in a space with a wonderful view. I chatted with the lounge staff, who also made me a recommended drink—it was delicious. Next time, I’d like to stay here again with my children.

We stayed at Karuizawa Prince Hotel East, where we used to come skiing when our children were little, to celebrate our daughter’s university acceptance. The atmosphere was unchanged and full of nostalgia. We were satisfied with everything—the staff’s service, the Onsen, and the meals. We made wonderful memories. Thank you very much.

We stayed with 4 people and 1 dog. The Room was odor-free, and we barely heard any other dogs, making it very comfortable. It would be nice to have a few more amenities. There was a note about limitations on the bathwater, but it turned out to be fine. Thank you!

This was my first stay. I usually avoid Old Karuizawa because I imagine it gets very crowded, and I typically spend my time around Kita-Karuizawa where our mountain lodge is. This time, however, I discovered that Hotel Marroad Karuizawa, located near Yagasaki Park and Oga Hall, is so comfortable and conveniently situated that I would like to stay here again in the future. The building seems to have been built around 1985 and has a retro feel, but the view of fresh greenery from the courtyard and dining area was wonderful. It was hard to believe that just a 10-minute walk from Karuizawa Station could feel so quiet and peaceful. The front desk staff were kind, and the Room was spacious and relaxing. The breakfast buffet was also delicious. Next time, I’d like to come by Shinkansen to enjoy the snowy scenery and experience Karuizawa in winter.

We chose a one-night, two-day Plan with an Italian dinner included. Since we have growing children with big appetites, we also ordered à la carte dishes, and everything was delicious. We also booked a massage at the spa, and it was very skillful—so much so that we’d go regularly if we lived nearby.

I have stayed at many Accommodations over the years, but this is the first time I have ever been so deeply moved by an Accommodation. When I called before my stay to ask about something, the accommodation manager responded with great care. From that conversation and the follow-up email, I could truly feel their heartfelt hospitality, and it reminded me of what service is really all about. I was so impressed that, for the first time ever, I brought a boxed assortment of sweets at check-in and said, “Please enjoy these together.” And that feeling continued after check-in as well. The thoughtfulness we received was something you rarely experience even at a luxury Hotel—I was nearly brought to tears. I don’t usually write Reviews, but I wanted to express my gratitude once again. The Room was extremely comfortable, and perhaps thanks to the Active Sleep feature, my sleep score on the app was an excellent 98. Thanks to you, our stay in Karuizawa became even more wonderful. The parking area was also easy to use, and being able to charge our plug-in vehicle was very convenient. The hot dog included in our Plan was also delicious. We would love to visit again. I had been interested in this place for some time, so this was my first stay. The Room was clean, and above all, I loved the view from the Room. We also enjoyed both dinner and breakfast, and everything was delicious. While it may vary depending on the time, perhaps because many of the guests were older, we were able to relax in a calm atmosphere. Overall, I think this is a Hotel where you can enjoy a very fulfilling stay with great meals, Accommodation, and an Onsen. I also heard that you have your own golf course, so I’d like to come back someday for a plan that combines both Accommodation and golf.
