The owner’s heartfelt, thoughtful talk was truly wonderful, and it was a great Accommodation where every staff member clearly embraced that passion in the way they cared for guests. By joining the soy sauce pressing on check-in day and the morning shrine visit the next day, I barely had time to relax in my cozy Kito Room. After staying one night, I felt that—if possible—two nights would be ideal: listen to the talk on day one, take a daytime walk along Yamanobe-no-Michi on day two, return to the Accommodation in the evening, enjoy the lounge, and then unwind in your Room. If I may ask for one thing, I’d love it if the tea-room lounge were also open the next morning and if checkout were a little later. That said, it is already more than wonderful as it is. I thoroughly enjoyed both the soy sauce and even the pressed soy pulp—it was all delicious. When I used the soy sauce at home, my cooking somehow leveled up by about three stages. Incredible umami! Thanks to you, I made such happy memories. Thank you very much.

This was my second stay, and my companion was delighted again, saying it was wonderful. The restaurant felt very upscale and not somewhere we would usually go, but being on a trip made it feel special and we truly enjoyed it. The chef and staff served us with lovely smiles, and we had a delicious seasonal meal paired with wine. The light snacks and sweets in the lounge were all excellent as well. The room was very comfortable, and my companion—who already loves to chat—was even more talkative than usual. A walk to Yuigahama Beach just one minute away on foot also made this an unforgettable trip.

With the dignified atmosphere of a long-established hotel and well-trained staff, I was able to enjoy a very comfortable stay. Above all, the staff were always smiling; I came here during a break from my busy work schedule and left feeling recharged. Thank you very much.

I stayed here on this occasion, and from start to finish the staff’s attentiveness and thoughtfulness were truly wonderful, making my time very comfortable. Every detail was well cared for, and it was a Ryokan that naturally made me think, “I want to come back.” The bath was also very relaxing, and I was able to unwind and feel refreshed. We visited Matsue for my wife’s 60th birthday trip. Minamikan was a wonderful Ryokan that suited us perfectly, as we love Onsen trips. We’d love to visit again. We arrived early at Minamikan, left our car, and went for a walk; thank you as well for the sightseeing advice around Matsue from the staff member who welcomed us. Our Accommodation Room had high ceilings and felt spacious and relaxing. The large window is framed like a picture, with a lovely view of the bridge. We could also see Lake Shinji from the open-air bath in the Room, which made it very easy to unwind. The amenities were thoughtfully prepared: there were three kinds of tea—one especially nice after breakfast—and the sweets were elegant as well. The garden is excellent; you can feel the history in the pine trees. The meals were delicately seasoned from start to finish, using high-quality ingredients, and we were very satisfied. You can really tell how skilled the chef is. In the end, we’re glad we chose this place—everything was wonderful: the people, the Room and Onsen, and the cuisine. Unfortunately, we weren’t blessed with good weather this time, so we’ll save taking a boat ride on Matsue Castle’s moat and enjoying the sunset for our next visit. My wife says she’d like to come in autumn. Thank you in advance.

From arrival to departure, we were extremely satisfied with the best service and hospitality we have ever experienced. Dinner was served in a private room, and with the careful explanations, every dish was delicious. Breakfast also offered a wide variety and was satisfying, but there were times when items such as bread and yogurt were not available, so we hope these can be provided more consistently. The coffee was from an automatic machine and was not very good, but overall we were satisfied with the meals. We also used the lounge and enjoyed a relaxing time with alcohol and light snacks. We were very satisfied with the large public bath as well. If staying in Tamatsukuri Onsen again, we would definitely like to return.

Everything was wonderful. My partner loved the organic amenities and the Onsen. Our child enjoyed the meals and the ornaments.

It was a very clean Hotel, which made me feel at ease. The staff were also very helpful. The Japanese breakfast was delicious, but there wasn’t enough rice—I would have been happy if refills were available. Also, I was glad to be able to read a lot of *One Piece* and *Kingdom*. I understand it can’t be helped given the location, but the large public bath wasn’t great. It’s a Hotel I’d like to use again.

This was our third stay. This time, the herbal bath additive provided in the Room came with salted cherry blossoms, making for a truly heartwarming bath time. The breakfast we look forward to every visit had been refreshed, and this time the Asuka-style hot pot soup was absolutely delicious. Enjoying a hot pot in the morning felt wonderfully indulgent, and the illustration on the menu card also warmed our hearts. This trip was a three-generation family journey, and I got to see many smiles from my mother again. Thank you very much. We will be back again.

We stayed as a couple. The new Room was pleasant, but the reception staff's service was slightly disappointing... The drink and ice cream services, as well as the late-night ramen, were thoughtful and enjoyable. Thank you very much.

I first learned about the Herring Mansion when I visited Otaru for sightseeing, and I had long wished to stay at Ginrinsou, the Ryokan created from that historic building. This time, I finally had the chance to visit Ginrinsou. Its dignified presence on a hill overlooking Otaru-Chikko was truly moving. Stepping inside, I was immediately overwhelmed by the 75-tatami grand hall, and my eyes were drawn to the artworks displayed throughout the property—almost like being in a museum. From my reserved Room in the new wing and its bath, I enjoyed a panoramic view of the harbor, and once again felt amazed by the scenery. For dinner, I chose French cuisine. The adjacent Grill Ginrinsou is also wonderful: first you’re captivated by a beautiful chandelier, then by the many Meissen pieces and Lladró porcelain figurines on display. The meal featured superbly prepared local Hokkaido ingredients—sea urchin, hairy crab, Ezo abalone, kinki rockfish, branded beef, and seasonal asparagus—and it was one delightful surprise after another all the way through dessert. My friend and I were thrilled; we agreed we’d never had French food that good even in Tokyo. It became an unforgettable trip to Otaru. When I visit again, I would love to stay here once more.

Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, and we were very satisfied as both offered delicious local dishes and rice. Breakfast in particular featured many local specialties, and we enjoyed trying a variety of items. Also, although there was no freezer in the Room, the front desk kindly froze our ice packs for us, which was very helpful.

I was wondering how things would be after the change in management, but it was a comfortable stay with meals truly worthy of an auberge. The young chef is full of talent, and I’m excited to see what kind of dishes he will create in the future. As for service—such as the timing of meal service—I think it will become more refined as they gain experience. If I had to mention anything, I would have appreciated having both loungewear and pajamas, and on a smaller note, amenities like shoe-shining supplies. I will visit again.

We visited Shimane Prefecture for the first time to go to the Izumo Taisha Shrine we’d long dreamed of seeing for our wedding anniversary. While looking for a Ryokan, we found a wonderful one in an Onsen town—though it was a bit far from Izumo Taisha—and decided to check it out. We were especially drawn to the amazing Plan offering 90 minutes of all-you-can-eat crab, so we made a Reservation right away!! The guest Room was very spacious—more than enough for two people—and it was very clean!! Every dish was truly delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed the crab until we were completely satisfied. The other kaiseki dishes were also luxurious; the clam clear soup was of course delicious, and so were the meat dishes and sea bream shabu-shabu… Everything exceeded our expectations!! The Onsen was also excellent. I personally loved the open-air bath in particular. When I went in at night, I felt the water temperature might have been slightly on the lukewarm side, but in the morning it was just perfect—so I think the weather may have had an effect. It felt so good that I wanted to stay in both at night and in the morning. The next day my skin felt smooth, and I could definitely feel its benefits. The front desk staff were kind as well. Next time, I’d love to visit again on a family trip with my parents and my spouse’s parents. We’re very happy to have found such a great Ryokan that we can recommend to anyone.

From the nearest station, cross the children’s park and you’ll arrive without getting lost. I was excited to try the local ramen at the shop right in front, but it was closed for a regular day off. Stopped by on the way to Flower Park—drawn in by the high ratings—and it was well worth the detour. Everything was excellent; a rare find for such a quiet area.

The view from the Room over the Agano River to Mt. Hozu is wonderful. It is also close to the Agano River sightseeing boat pier across the river. The Onsen is a sulfur sulfate spring, and depending on the season it changes color to fresh bamboo green, celadon, or deutzia white (100% free-flowing from the source). The open-air bath is pleasantly lukewarm. Unusually for a Hotel, there is an irori hearth in the Room with charcoal already lit, creating a cozy atmosphere. The meals are generous—more than you can finish—with great seasoning, and the staff provide excellent service. They handle everyone smoothly, from group tours to individual travelers. The Room is kept very clean and comes with a large TV and even a sewing kit. A 2-minute walk from JR Hanasaki Station, this Accommodation stands on historic ground—the former battlefield of the Byakkotai—inviting reflection on Japan’s Meiji Restoration.

The building felt a bit dated, but the front desk staff were excellent. The breakfast buffet in particular offered a wide variety of delicious options, making this a very satisfying Hotel overall. It was my first time staying in Machida, and it was convenient for getting to Yokohama, the Tama area, and Enoshima. I would gladly stay here again if I have the chance.

Stayed for 2 nights during the consecutive holidays in September 2025. I made a last-minute reservation the evening before and requested an earlier breakfast to accommodate my early start for Mt. Daisen climbing. The Ryokan promptly responded, saying, "We can only make it about 10 minutes earlier," which I greatly appreciated given my sudden request. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed, and upon departure, we received a courteous send-off. Every staff member we encountered at the front desk, dining area, and within the facility demonstrated exceptional hospitality. The room was spacious and relaxing; the large public Onsen was not crowded; meals were served individually and were all delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our comfortable stay over these two days. I look forward to staying here again during my next visit to Kaike Onsen!

I stay here every year on the day of the event. This year was my third time! The view of Lake Shinji from the balcony is so soothing. It’s relaxing to watch the shijimi clam fishing, too. Time flies by so quickly, and I felt refreshed again this year.

I chose this Accommodation for my solo trip after hearing that Kaike Onsen is known for “beautiful skin.” My main purpose was a pilgrimage to locations from the NHK morning drama “Bakebake” (around Matsue City), but I’m glad I extended my trip and stayed here. It was a single Room, but the bed was a spacious double. Since it faced the sea, I could fully enjoy the powerful view of the Sea of Japan. As I booked a one-night stay with breakfast Plan, I can’t comment on dinner, but breakfast offered a good-value and tasty buffet selection. If only the quality of the rice could be improved a little... Overall, the price for this single Room (one night with breakfast) felt like great value. Thank you very much.
