[Limited to 4 rooms] A 300-tsubo grand residence of a forestry family—an Accommodation where you can experience history and charm. Enjoy a private space with high-concentration Onsen and a Japanese garden.

The main building, a sukiya-style structure with 150 years of history, and the annex, built 70 years ago, offer a unique stay. The four limited Rooms available per day each have their own distinct charm. Preserving the essence of traditional Japanese architecture, the Rooms feature shoin-zukuri designs crafted with rare wood or renovated spaces such as a former storehouse. Guests can enjoy Onsen in a private cypress bath or an in-Room bath. For dinner, we offer Plans featuring shabu-shabu with the chef-selected premium pork "Miyabuton" or sukiyaki/shabu-shabu with Nara's renowned "Udabeef," served in your Room or a private dining room. For breakfast, savor the local specialty "chagayu" (tea porridge). Depending on the season, enjoy firefly viewing or river play at the private stream on the property, or have a BBQ in the garden in front of your Room. Relax in the 3,000-tsubo garden, which reflects the beauty of the four seasons, or spend a tranquil moment in the tea room.

Introduction of the Accommodation

Greetings from the 4th generation, Tatsujiro.

The gentle murmur of the Washigawa River, the calls of deer and insects, the sound of the wind—at "guest Villa Aisakura," we hope you will enjoy the melodies of nature. Renovated as a Ryokan limited to just four groups per day, it is neither a luxury Hotel nor a gourmet Ryokan, nor is it a traditional farmhouse or townhouse. While we do not offer sophisticated or polished services, we strive to provide "simple countryside hospitality." We hope you will savor the homemade countryside cuisine and the seasonal beauty of nature that cannot be experienced in the city. Escape the hustle and bustle of urban life and enjoy a slow, relaxing time with us.

The history of "Guest Villa Houou".

The 3,000-tsubo garden, surrounded by a 50-meter-long stone wall made of "Oya Stone," features a 150-year-old main building originally constructed as the private residence of forestry entrepreneur "Oketatsu," and a 70-year-old annex built as a guesthouse. From the early Showa period, carefully selected Yoshino timber and rare woods such as Kasuga cedar, Koya maki, and red pine were collected over 13 years. After the war, the construction was completed with the playful ingenuity of master carpenters. Now, in the Reiwa era, it has been reborn as "Guest Villa Aizakura," a Property where the exceptional skills and craftsmanship of master carpenters, cabinetmakers, and plasterers come together. With the ambiance of a "wood museum," the Property offers four rooms, ranging from a minimum size of 40.09 square meters to a maximum of 143.60 square meters. The name "Aizakura" originates from the fact that cherry blossoms can be enjoyed for six months of the year. Within the garden grounds, guests can admire various types of cherry blossoms, including mountain cherry, Somei Yoshino, weeping cherry, and four-season cherry trees.

A grand residence and Japanese garden meticulously crafted by a forestry expert well-versed in wood and Japanese architecture. The Onsen with natural carbonated spring water is housed in a luxurious bath made of the finest Koya-maki wood. Enjoy the changing seasons as you gaze upon the diverse expressions of the serene and picturesque garden.
